50 books in 2009

I am currently getting a little nervous about my reading goal. I wanted to read 10,000 pages and 50 books this year and I think I'm only at 39 books so far. Here is what I read in October:
-3 Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson
-Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
-The Summer I turned Pretty by Jenny Han
-The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
-The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
-Birches by Robert Frost

I'm also about 150 pages into "The Time Traveler's Wife" which I am really liking and am glad I didn't see the movie first!

I'm also catching up on my Bible reading (1400 pages so far and on October 17th) which is why I'm not worried about reading my 10,000 page goal.

I've requested some easy and short books from the library for november, so I guess I shouldn't be too nervous. I have what 8 weeks left of 2009? wish me luck!

  1. Good Luck! :) My reading goal went down hill when school started back up... but I did have a productive summer. If I can make it through all 7 books in the Harry Potter series by the end of the year (plus what I read before those), I will be happy... Was this your first time to read Frankenstein? I'm always surprised how much I like that book... ha.

  2. I'm so very proud of and inspired by you, Lisa. Keep reading!

  3. thanks girls :) Yes- it was my first time to read Frankenstein! I have a friend who LOVES reading and made that recommendation. She suggested reading it in October too! making it a little more spooky? maybe.
Anyone started the Patton book yet? I have it beside my bed... waiting for the calendar to say November! Keep you girls posted. Are you guys excited for the holidays???? I'm SO excited!

also here is a tee I think you both might like:
